In the Countdown!
All the other families left this morning at 6am for home, now it is just us and the Vannoy’s who were added in the travel group late left here. Our guides will stay with us until we get on the plane headed for Hong Kong to connect with Chicago in less than 48 hours. Our consulate appointment is this morning and after that we will have the certificate of adoption and her American Visa to allow us to take her home. We don’t even have to go to the appointment, our guides do all the work there, but we have to stay in our rooms in case they need extra info. Tomorrow we go to the American Consulate for a formal, but short, “ceremony” where we swear we won’t abandon her or anything and we are done! We have some last minute shopping to do this afternoon, but we are basically resting and trying to figure out how to get all this stuff into our suitcases. Again, we leave our hotel around 5pm, Thursday your time and arrive in Birmingham 8:39 Friday night- we hope you will continue to pray earnestly for safe and easy travel.

You do not know us but a friend sent me your post. We have followed your journey the entire time. Ella Grace is beautiful (along with your two other girls). We adopted in Dec. from Taiwan and our daughter completely rejected me at first so you dad have especially been in our prayers- i just rejoiced this morning when i saw that picture of you two together. we are using lifeline to adopt daughter #3 (we have one bio as well) from China and should be dtc this week. Thank you for sharing your journey and congratulations on a true miracle of God. Drew and Lori
Robin and Frank,
See ya stateside! We are praying, and we are so excited you are almost home!
MG’s reports that yesterday was Katy’s share day and she brought pictures of Ella Grace and a wand! Picures of your little princess and her own princess accoutrement!
You might want Gorgeous George, the stuffed gorrilla that lives in Mrs. Butler’s room, to come home with Katy this weekend to meet Ella Grace. He comes with his own backpack of clothes and a photo album which you add to when you have him for the weekend. Apparently, the way to get Gorgeous Geo is to stay on the Green Light and get a note from Mom saying it’s ok for him to come home. MG always tells me she and Katy are on green, so that part of the equation is solved. You could just e-mail Kaky (same address as mine, but Butler.K). I bet there are no pictures in that album of George meeting new family members adopted all the from, as MG says, CHINESE!
Take care. We’ll be praying!
Love,
Caroline
